Hmmm, I have seen things written about other people on here without you worrying about them. Why is that? Have you ever seen Teagues' parents feel the need to make a show of themselves? How about the Plumlees? Have you ever seen Mcroberts, Hayward, Howards, or Odens parents go out of the way to draw attention to themselves? The answer to all is an emphatic no. I have never seen any players make such an issue out of every decision made in their recruiting process. The Indy Star did a whole series on Tyler's recruiting, which is more than they did for any of the great players from Indy in recent years. Dan Dakich constantly has Pa Zeller on his radio show for some unknown reason. I am all for people teaching morals, family values, and a high standard of personal living. However, this family looks like they are auditioning for a reality TV show. They don't only feel the need to constantly tell everyone about their accomplishment but for some reason they seem to embellish them. I have even seen in articles where they bash tteachers that dared to give their kids a B. How dare a teacher give them the grade they deserved. I will tell you that I haven't been very fond of that family since the personal attacks on McRoberts and the use of Christianity to win Mr. Basketball. There is a saying in proverbs that warns you to beware anyone who flatters you or themselves too much. I have seen you write much about the Zeller boys, and anyone in 3A it seems. But not one time have I seen you attack a kids parents. Maybe you have read so much because they do have 3 sons who chose to stay in the town they live in and go to school in that town. The Plumlee's chose to send the boys to prep school on the east coast, that's fine, but I think that had an impact on local (Indiana) media in writing articles about them. There was an article about the Plumlee's, much like the Zeller articles, from the AP a few weeks ago. Here is the link: msn.foxsports.com/collegebasketball/story/Duke-Blue-Devils-front-line-to-feature-3-Plumlee-brothers-111011 I do agree there has much been written about their family, and much less about the guys you mentioned. Why??? I don't know, I'm not a reporter. Maybe the Teagues declined a interview, maybe they was never asked?? I don't know. How many articles were written about Damon Bailey when he was still in middle school after the Feinstein book, I am sure it has been much of the same for the Zeller's. Maybe they were thinking that there is enough bad publicity in sports today such as the Penn State and Syracuse debacles or the other numerous college and professional atheletes who make the news for screwing up, and they have been the target of so much publicity because they do things the right way. Really I don't know. I would like the link to article about the Zeller's attacking teachers because their teachers gave them a "B", or how the personal attacks on McRoberts cost him Mr. Basketball...much like the attacks you are using on them I assume..................or how they used Christianity to win Mr. BB??? Wow that's a new one on me. Honestly I believe Luke won it because of the shot at the end of the state championship game, I thought Dominic James was the best player in the state that year. Tyler put up some impressive numbers his senior year, and I believe they would have won the combined tourney that year. Cody or Teague could have won last year, maybe Teague choosing to go to UK swayed some voters to chose Cody...can't be changed now, and you have no more worries, there are no more Zellers. So Carmel have any Mr.BB poetentials in the next couple of years? They might have a chance now right???

Here is another really good article about both the Plumlee's and the Zeller's. Sounds like 2 down to earth, quality families trying to do the best for their kids....http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=5549441

:'(really Tigerfire, you have the time to dig through articles so you can post them on here? There is a big difference between personal attacks then pointing out the obvious. IU and UNC didn't even play each other. So why else would someone wear those shirts if it wasn't to draw attention to themselves? Thats what narcissism is. Yes there was thousands of articles about Damon Bailey but I certainly can't remember the Bailey's calling a news conference everytime Damon eliminated a team in his recruiting process. I also can't remember Damon's parents ever doing anything to draw attention to themselves. As for using Christianity, well nobody can say for certain why people do certain things but we are to discern and it sure looked like it. I went to the 2005 HOF and saw no references to God made after either game but there was a big show made of it after the 3A title game that year. Wasn't there also some references about that last bucket and how he was told he would make it? Even that sounds very narcissistic doesn't it? OK so why wasn't you on here defending McRoberts when there was all the comments about him?

Also Damon went to the final four 3 times in the real state tourney.......not that watered down crap. He never went to the HOF and lost to the only good teams they played that year. He wasn't dominated by another Mr Basketball candidate the year he won Mr Basketball.

Wasn't there also some references about that last bucket and how he was told he would make it? Even that sounds very narcissistic doesn't it? OK so why wasn't you on here defending McRoberts when there was all the comments about him? First of all it took about 2 minutes with google to find the 2 articles I referenced and I was working at the firehouse, it was 1 in the morning and it was a slow night. So not really a major effort there. I did search out the article on the Zeller parents comments on the teachers grades...couldn't find it. I also haven't any articles of personal attacks on McRoberts, so for you to KNOW of such an incident you must personally know the Zeller's or heard it from them directly, otherwise it is hearsay and not necessarily the truth...not calling you a liar, just questioning your source. What is obvious to you may be swayed by your lack respect for the Zeller's, once again your opinion, and everyone is intitled to that. I just don't agree in this case. As for the Christianity case, I don't recall Luke making any kind of spritual intuition to him making that shot, maybe he did. I didn't watch that game live or on tape. Only saw the replays. Alot of atheletes claim to be Christians and give credit to God, but their personal lives don't back up what they are saying. In this case the Zeller's seem to be genuine in their faith on the surface, but don't know them personally and can't be sure. So on this one I will have to call a draw, once again your opinion so I won't argue this one Bailey was a 3 time state finalist, no doubt, and his team played a good schedule you are correct. But I really don't remember all the intricate details of the articles, or how his parents acted, or how people felt about him. I don't believe there were forums like this, or even the internet for that matter to get that word out. Many letters to the editor maybe, don't know. Different time. We live in the information age where there is so much info out there, that I can read just about every paper in the nation online and keep up on stuff. In 1990 I only read the Princeton Daily Clarion or Evansville Courier to get info, maybe the Sportings News back when it looked like a newspaper. So just because I didn't read or see them doesn't mean they weren't written and published around Lawrence or Monroe county in the 80's/90's. So neither of us remember the intircate details of the Bailey days. Oh and no best seller books written on any of the Zeller brothers or their parents by the way...and I'm sure the parents had to OK Feinstein writing a book about their kid....but I guess that is OK in your eyes, mine too, it was well written and entertaining. Lastly I joined the forum last year or the year before. Only started posting recently in the college forum, so kinda hard for me to defend McRoberts and his actions from what 2005?? I read alot of your comments about him and how great of a player he was, I know he went to Duke, and now in the NBA but really don't know much more than what I read here that you write, so I guess I have to take your word as the gospel truth on him. Oh one more thing, are you close buddies with McRoberts, to get all the insight into his personal feelings how he was mistreated, and screwed over in his hs basketball career? Or maybe you guys are related somehow, his brother, sister, a cousin or heck even his dad or mom ?? Play with him in school or against him on the court?? Or.....ARE YOU McROBERTS? ? Oh and you didn't answer my question about your kids/family. You are a parent I hope, because of your knowledge of how parents should raise their kids, and act when they go to games and what to wear as not to be narcissistic in form or fashion. If you have kids I wish them the best, hope they become Mr. or Miss BB in their HS career, go and get a college education, and become productive members of society. If not you have a wonderful example of "what not to wear to a college basketball game" if you ever have kids who someday become basketball stars in this great state of INDIANA...GO Hoosiers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh forgot to mention the shirt thing. Maybe they didn't want to change on the way to UNC, maybe a friend or family member got them for them, or probably they had them made themselves. SO maybe they get on here and read your comments and realize hhooooowww narcissistic they were and never wear them again. Really I don't care what they wear, honestly I did think they looked goofy, but hey its the USA and we can by God wear what we want and no one can tell us any different....at least they weren't wearing those neon green body suits, or a super hero costume with the fake muscles and a giant Z on the chest. Well maybe next game....maybe they do read this and that will give them an idea for the UK game... now that would I agree with you in being narcissistic.....LOLOLOLOL....have a great day in watching UNC/UK game today...

You just looked for any articles about the Zellers or the plumlees that is much different than trying to find a specific article with a specific comment. Actually I think it had something to do with the Mr Basketball award but I am not sure. Also, if my memory is correct it was actually complaining about a teacher giving an A instead of an A+. As for the attacks on McRoberts, I never said the Zellers did it but that the obnoxious Washington fanbase did. Do you know how you can tell I am correct on both of these things? You don't see any of the Washington fans on here telling me how wrong I am.

I agree, you and the Washington fans go at it on here alot. I admire your willingness to standup for what you believe in, and being a Princeton Tiger fan it did/does get old sometimes to hear about them beating us many years the Zellers were in school. But hey its all water under the bridge now right, can't change history, we can only change the future. My work on this topic is done, feel free to discuss among friends here... have a nice day ;D

Sorry I couldn't resist. Is this the article you are referring to? Link: www2.indystar.com/articles/0/235800-3340-036.html I do see the reference to the grade, but it didn't keep him from a 4.0 gpa and I don't see any complaining, only commenting on a paper he wrote in the class about Bobby Plump, and Indiana High School basketball. In the side bar there is a reference about his church, and his favorite passage of scripture and the comments at the end of the article... so that was his Chritianity card he played I guess. I doubt they would write it the same today with all the political correctness we have today. Ok, done now...sorry for little addition here...
