WOW Greensburg beats East Central by 3 after trailing by 18 in the 3rd period. Gburg could not buy a bucket in the 1st half. But they just kept fighting and came back for a big win. Gburg put on a sticky full court press that took EC out of it's rhythm. Then the shots started falling. Not bad for a very young team. EC has a good Jr.(3), Sr.(7) team .

Actually it was 21 down in the third. Getting EC in foul trouble, and then hitting their foul shots (20-23) was the difference in the end. Here's a full game recap plus a webcast archive: bit.ly/rSvxEc

WOW!!! That's a great win. Where does Greensburg send their kids to learn how to shoot FT's? This game and what they did from the line against Batesville. Unbelievable. Pro's (the best in the game) don't shoot the % that Greensburg is currently shooting from the stripe. Heaven help the Pirates when they don't get the fouls or have an off night from the line 'cause their effort from the line has earned them two wins; otherwise their 3-2 vs 5-0. Still that's great shooting from the stripe missing only 3 or 4 out of nearly 50.

bballnut it's time for your spanking. When YOU watch a BB game Bville is not the only team on the floor. Greensburg's defense and good shooting from the Field put them in a position to win both of those games. A 9 to 0 run late in the game beat Bville, and a 37 to 13 run in the 4th beat EC.

Look. My comment was no way meant to be a bash. Greensburg won both games from the line. I was and am awed by their ability from the line. Unbelievable! That was my comment. In other words, don't foul Greensburg as they are unreal from the line. They sure didn't win from their shooting from the floor. In both games they were outscored from the floor and that's a fact. If you can't handle facts, well what can I say.

Hey nut, Greensburg was only 27/34 at the line ( bad night ) against Jennings Co. (who beat EC at EC ). With 102 points, did they win at the line ? ( hint: good defense and 66% from the floor ) ;D

Have to keep Greensburg from the charity stripe. Just in the 4 games (EC, Batesville, JC and Larenceburg) if my numbers are correct, that's 100-115, nearly 90%. That is unreal for a high school team. Not sure what their numbers were for the other 3 games but assume similar. Against JC, 66% from the field is lights out shooting. Anytime a team can hit 79% from the line and 66% from the field, they're going to win and usually in a big way. Would have liked to have seen that game.
Don't have the stats and would probably throw up if I did, Batesville is probably shooting 50% (maybe) from the line and maybe 30% from the field. Very poor from what many expected to be a pretty decent shooting team. Dismal performance against EC Saturday. Oh well, season is still young and maybe they'll figure it out by Sectionals. Have to!

Whatever hair Coach Garrett has left will be gone by the end of the season as Batesville shoots 27% from the line last night (6-22 I believe) with around 6-7 of those misses coming on the front end of 1&1's. In fact, they missed about 13 in a row and when one was finally made, the gym erupted. Comical and sad at the same time. If I were coach, during pregame shoot around, I think I would have the guys working on FT's instead of working on their dunks and style points. The good news is, it certainly can't get worse-or can it? iuhoho-please send one or two of your guys over to provide a FT shooting clinic.

In the Greensburg game, Batesville missed several front ends. That just kills you. I know all these kids work hard at this game. The skill level in HS BB Gets better every yr. The Gburg kids worked there butts off this summer. Our boys know this will be a special team by next year and they have spent countless hrs. at the line( that does win games). McIntosh makes a BIG difference, but every Gburg kid can take the ball to the basket, that has created allot of fowls. But these kids can light it up from 3 if you close the lane. We just got better with Tressler( 6' 1" Sr.) being cleared to play. Hes a strong smart kid that plays bigger than 6'1". Coach Meyer is doing a great job with this very young team, they put allot of defensive pressure on Bville and EC at the end of those games. Bville and EC are very good teams, so this is not over yet. It will be about who stays healthy.

Other than the circus half court shot EC's big guy threw in at the buzzer at the end of the 1st half, freethorws beat the Dogs (9-15) but many front ends missed and got beat by two.
No doubt all the kids work hard during off season but I think the Greensburg kids may have left a little more sweat on the floor. It just shows on the floor and your're right about next year, they could be special. They are all young and will get stronger and quicker. I think the Dogs will be good next year as well. Gonna have to be.
As for this year, barring injuries, conf. title is between the Pirates and Trojans. Just don't see anyone else stepping up and knocking either of these teams off except maybe Batesville but that requires a H win against EC and an A win against Greensburg (very tough). But even if that were to happen, still leaves the Dogs with 2 loses against only 1 at the most for either EC or Greensburg.

Greensburg 87- Hauser 64. Hauser has a very good 1A team with a 6'7" point and a 6'8" 280 lb center( he should be playing for the COLTS), I though 2 of our kids where dead during this game. They made it hard to get in-side, so I think we hit 10 3's. Hauser should do well in the tourney this year

Greensburg 85- Batesville 82 in OT, WOW what a game. Bville out plays Gburg most of the game but can't close at the line. Gburg was 23/28 at the line. Gburg's Bryant McIntosh (So.) had 38 for the game. I though Bville got Rattled when the real pressure was on. About 5000 saw one hell of a game. These teams should meet again at Sectional. It will be hard for Gburg to win 3 in a row, Bville is a very good team. I cant wait for the next game, it should be special.

Congrats to the Pirates. They're really good this year. Can't imagine what they'll be like next year and the year after. B'ville just can't shoot free throws. Missed a few on the front ends of 1-1 and then to miss 4 straight in the closing secionds while in double bonus-WOW! Never should have gone to overtime. But, even missing those free throws, probably the biggest play of the game was when B'ville broke the press with B Hoeing having the ball, why did he attempt to go to the basket with about 16 ticks left? Had he pulled the ball back out and run some clock, it may have ended then. Instead he goes to the hoop, throws up an off balance shot and the rest is history. Freshman and coaching mistake. Congats again to the Pirates. Might be very interesting should the two meet in sectionals.

How cool was that?!!!!!!!!! Killer game ...killer atmosphere ...in just a few years, we'll be watching some of these kids in HD on a regular basis in the winter. Some serious talent on these two teams.
