So this board has been totally dead for awhile now. I thought I might spice it up with mention of the Zellers cause I know Mr. Magoo is steaming that they are doing so well and getting so much recognition for it.
So, how about them Zellers. Tyler was just named ACC Player of the year as well as All ACC First Team! Obviously the great people of this fine nation notice a great ball player when they see one. Nice work Tyler, can't wait to watch the draft when you are a top 5 pick and see you tear it up at the next level.
Cody Zeller just received the Freshman Co-Player of the Year and All-Big Ten 2nd team. Not only did he receive these awards but he is almost the sole purpose for IU's great turnaround a season early. Can't wait till he gets NCAA player of the year next year. Great work Cody and let's make a run in this tourney.
And finally, Mr Miyagi, all your rants and complaints over the last couple of years now make you look like the complete fool you are. These kids can play ball and deserved the title of Mr. Basketball as they are showing in the NCAA.

What a joke. Tyler will never be a top 5 pick, you are just kidding yourself. He can thank Bilas for that award. What is the deal with Bilas and Zeller....are they related or lovers? Cody is a decent player and may last a couple of years in the NBA but Teague will have a much better career along with an NCAA champioship this year.

They are both fun players to watch. Even more impressive is what Luke is doing with his basketball camp. Camp Distixion, i took my boy to Washington for that camp, its truely a special thing he is doing and the people he has involved in that camp is unbelivable, and basketball is just a small portion of what they are teaching the kids. Cody, Tyler, Teague whoever you want to name wont have near the influence or ever touch as many lives as what Luke is, its amazing the one with the least basketball sucess is having such a large impact. It says ALOT about that family!! Bilas and Tyler being "Lovers" what childish, jealous response, why?? Not only are these kids and isperation for hard work at basketaball, but more importantly they are showing how IMPORTANT hard work in the classroom is

What is camp distixion? Sounds like a money making propisition for the Zellers. Sadly the lovers comment isn't a jealous response but a legitimate question.

Sorry for your loss, but where was your concern for others when the Washington fan base took such delight in the bus incident?

You are talking about 2 different ****ing things, two boys lost there life and are being layed to rest this week forever not to be home in bed for the parents to kiss good night, to tell them they love them! i assume you are talking about a hazing event on the Carmel bus How can you ever compare those 2 events, if thats what you are trying to compare??? That shows finally the actual mentality you carry Sir!

I am leaving this board once again, i had to come back to speak my piece in this matter, if you could have read the Zellers FB posts about these events (as Cody especially played with these boys) you realize that for all of there accomplishments and accolades they are just student athelets with friends and memories and high school friend they never forget. They are still just kids! Have fun mrmyagi as it seems you own this board, have fun with that

I never said anything negative about the two students. I guess in your mind it's ok to capitalize on a communities mistakes and misery as long as nobody has been killed.

Man.....miyagi you are truly an idiot. Your hatred for the Zellers has made you completely blind. It just kills you that they are now successful at the college level, making you look like a complete fool with every double-double they produce. I find it funny that someone could hate a single family that they don't even know that bad. It's really pathetic to be honest.
As for the City of Washington and it's fans. I heard about that accident over the radio and I'm truly sorry for the loss. No parent should ever have to lay to rest their child.

There is a big difference between hatred and someone thinking they aren't worthy of some of their awards. Three Mr Basketballs and zero wins against 4A competition says it all. Didn't all the Washington fans compare him to Oden and tell us he would never spend 4 years at UNC?

MM you need to go to Harrell's website and check the record for 4A wins for Washington. In 2004-2005 they beat a pretty good East Chicago Central team who won the 4A state title a year or two later. Also beat Terre Haute, and Ev. Central a couple times since 2004, the Zeller years if I'm not mistaken. Agreed they didn't beat many either, but they only play a couple each year.
As for Oden, he was a beast in HS with Conely. Just read he grew up in Terre Haute, but moved to Indy after MS. As for his "Pro Career" he has been injured so much it is sad. For the record he has earned in the neighborhood of $24,000,000 for 88 total NBA games. Of course that is plus endorsements. Rough being an NBA player.
As for worthy of an award, isn't that objective? It's it the vote of a large number of writers, media folks who decide who get the Mr. Basketball award. The consensus doesn't always get it right for sure (Luke Z), but generally the guy who wins it goes on to a good college career, and plays at least a fair amount of NBA ball. Case in point is the 2 younger Zeller boys, Tyler player of the year in the ACC, and Cody Co-Freshman of the Year in the B1G. So really for you to say they suck because in high school they didn't beat a 4A school, doesn't really hold water. Remember their competition is a result of location, you can't expect them to pick up the Bloomington schools, New Albany, Jeff, and some Indy schools, who are hours away, and play them on a Friday night after school. Besides if you look at Washington basketball, many seasons they are just your average southern Indiana team, competitive, but small enrollment and average results. Now as for Indy schools who recruit players much like college, it is not a big deal to get 2-5 players coming to their school who have D-1 talent. Look at what Guerin Catholic is doing. 1A a few years ago, competing for state titles. Now 3A, and still up for a state championship this weekend. Why???Kids can choose to go there from Carmel, Noblesville, Westfield etc and form a good team, and win championships as they have proven. Just watch in another year or two they will 4A basketball, 5A football and be dominant.
Anyway been away for awhile, just back to say...Go IU beat UK....AGAIN!!!! Have a nice day.
