Does anybody out there hate Shawe? Personally, I don't see how anybody CAN like them. I give their kids a lot of credit on their free throws though. Their coach is an a-hole. He is just so cocky. He has verbally made fun of the JCD Eagles twice this year. Once saying that the Eagles should pick a senior night in which they knew they could win and the second time implying that he wasnt sure if the Eagles would be any competition since they were down by 1 to Oldenburg at half time during the sectionals. The Eagles won that game but went on to lose to Shawe in double overtime by 2 during the sectional finals. So now that Shawe won I hope Orleans the best of luck in stomping the living _hit out of them. Then maybe they wont be so cocky. Any comments?
P.S. Dear Shawe Coaches I love your yellow jump suites.
Yeah right!

you know u go back to that game and you guys missed two free throws in the first overtime and not to mention a lane violation in the second overtime....seems like when it came down to crunch time shawe came up with the big plays and the eagles just seemed to choke.

Jac-Cen-Del fans and players are not poor losers (well some may be) , we just don't like to loose. I for one am very proud of the way our boys played and actually I was very surprised that the Shawe players were not as nasty and vulgar as usual, the fans were another story, but thats not what matters when it comes down to it as long as it doesn't become physical (That "Gods on our side" cheer was a little much and just made me furious). Yes, there was a lane violation in 2nd OT, which more than likely cost us the game, the ball holding is what I can't figure out, at least for as long as they did and then not making it pay off in the end twice. JCD did by no means choke, those boys played their hearts out, and as long as they do that I will be proud of them no matter what. I think Shawe is a little too cocky especially towards JCD since they handed the Eagles their first loss last year. Having said all that though I too hope Orleans knocks the living _ _ it out of them in Franklin! (I'll be listening with my Father-in-law, a Shawe fan, rooting on orleans all the way)

In the past JCD has been the cockiest team in the South. Especially a few years ago!

I agree with you in 99, I thought they were especially "thingy", (that was my class)and it came back to bite them in the sectional final. I don't disagree, your all entitled to your own opinion and all of us are going to be loyal to our own team. I think that JCD does need to be open to criticisim a little more, it's not taken well by many. I for one am not going to say that every other team out there sucks and JCD is #1 all the time, I may feel that way or want it to be that way, but I know it isn't true 99.9% of the time. I love the Eagles and I will always support them but I will also be one of their biggest critics, My Grandpa and my Aunt (who played in 78 for JCD) taught me to be that way. Weather or not it's the right way or not I don't know But that's how I do it. It's never good to be to "thingy" it always comes back to haunt you in the end.

Jac-Cen-Del and Shawe are conference rivals, and for any one of them to lose in a game like that results in high emotions. Shawe experienced the same thing two years ago in losing to JCD by one when Shawe was the favorite. I don't personally think either team was "thinggy" but just hard nosed, competitive players who didn't want to lose. JCD had an outstanding game plan, and played extremely well, and should be proud. Shawe took advantage of some opportunities, and came out on top; it was nothing more or less than that. As for Shawe players being nasty and vulgar?!?!!? Come on....I'm sure there is trash talking in every game, BOTH WAYS. You may not like Coach Bomholt, but I guarantee you one thing, his team is the most disciplined I've ever seen, and he does NOT put up with that crap. And by the way, I'm not always proud of the way our fans act, but I don't think we are poor losers or poor winners, and I think the same of JCD fans. Too bad some of you won't be rooting for a conference team; I'd be rooting for JCD, just as I did two years ago.

Ya know what your right shawe dad, my attitude has changed a little. I've had almost a week to think about it, and I feel bad for saying that I want orleans to win. They are in our conference and have become our rivals, and I think everyone should cheer on the team that makes it from thier conference. I am not going to comment on the way Shawe has played as far as sportsmanship in the past, but I think that both JCD and Shawe players played a very good game and none of them said anything bad to the other team just "great game". Although it pains me to say this, good luck to the ORVC champs, Shawe, in the regionals.

Thanks, JCD1. Shawe/JCD has become a great rivalry, and as it is with all great rivalries, emotions run high and things happen on the court that may be out of the ordinary for players on either team. I'm sure I felt the same way you did two years ago when JCD beat Shawe by one point in the sectional semi-final, but after a "cooling off" period, I realized that every game has a winner and a loser. Unfortunately, we only see the immediate reactions of both our fans and players, which may not be indicative of how we really are, or feel, after a tough loss. JCD played an outstanding game, and they will be the cream of the crop next year in the ORVC, and will have a great chance to go a long way in the tournament. If that happens, I'll be rooting for you all again! I think, though, that the integrity of both programs was reflected in the all conference voting as Kyle Horan and Drew Kring were co-winners of the Mental Attitude Award. Both great kids and leaders, and both well deserving! Go Shawe, beat Orleans!!!

Shawe/JCD has become a great rivalry in the ORVC for basketball. The thing is it is just a game though. I am a player for Shawe and I know how emotions can get high and things get out of control but you have to remember that its a game and nothing more. All the players in the past game were mad at one point or another, but they did not become poor sports because of it. Both schools should be proud of the way in which the players acted on the court and nobody should be saying anything about how they are acting that did not play...you can not really tell what its like. The fans are the only people who have a problem with each other or any of the players, because we all respect each other at the end of the day whether we win or not. I definitely believe that we should support our fellow conference teams when they achieve something and go on to bigger and better things. I think it will be another tough game next year and I myself can not wait!

Hi. I have enjoyed the previously described procedure of butt kissing to each other after hard feelings have been trampled. However, being as this is an "anonymous" message board, why are we using such juvenile phrases as "thingyy," when cocky or arrogant is truly what we mean? -Enough said.
I think it's great that two hotheaded people have come to a common ground to root on their conference rivals, although season is now over. However, it is ridiculous to think that this same crap won't happen in years to come, and in other sports. It doesn't make it right, but it makes us human. We get defensive for our teams and want to blame someone when something doesn't go our way. That's life. So, ultimately, good luck to teams wherever you are in this blessed country.
However, I would appreciate (as I am certain fellow Americans and Hoosier land Lovers would) if everyone would learn to spell check their postings so as to maintain any credibility whatsoever. In addition, I find it humorous that this above-mentioned JCD team was upset at the "God's on our side" chant...what stopped them from saying it? Good Lord, God's on everyone's side ~ you are just upset because you didn't think of it first. Amen. Go Hickory.
