Here's my picks for Class 4A Football Sectionals. Class 4A, Sectional 9. Pretty average Sectional. Hamond Morton takes the title. Class 4A, Sectional 10. Should be some good games in this Sectional. Look for Concord to take it over South Bend Clay in the title game. Class 4A, Sectional 11. Columbia City and East Noble probably could win a sectional title in some other sectional, and Angola has had a good year. But this sectional belongs to one team this year. Bishop Dwenger should cruise here. Class 4A, Sectional 12. New Haven has it's best team in a while and should make it to the title game. But this sectional goes to Delta again. Class 4A, Sectional 13. Some decent teams here. I'll take New Pal over Mount Vernon in the championship game. Class 4A, Sectional 14. This Sectional should also have some good games. Cathedral over Plainfield in a close title game. Class 4A, Sectional 15. Franklin County makes it to the title game against East Central here. East Central moves on. Class 4A, Sectional 16. Not even close in this Sectional. Evansville Reitz won't be challenged. Attachments:

Sectional 9 – The second round game between Hammond Morton and Griffith appears to be the championship game in this sectional as either team will be a heavy favorite against the bottom bracket team in the finals. The Governors of Morton edged Griffith 28-27 in the season first weekend with only a loss to 5A power Lowell. The Panthers of Griffith have taken on some of the big boys in the Northwest part of the state and played each of them tough. The winner of that game will most likely defeat Gary Westside in the finals.
Sectional 10 – Concord appears to be the best of this lot based on their run through the always tough Northern Lakes Conference. Granted some of the traditional powers like Plymouth and Northwood were down this year, but undefeated in a Conference is still an impressive feat. Concord smashed Lowell in last years sectional and the Red Devils may not be as good this year as they were then. The South Bend schools do not appear to offer much of a challenge, so Concord looks like a safe bet.
Sectional 11 – A fantastic final four is shaping up in this sectional as the SAC Champs from Dwenger should collide with the Northeast Hoosier Conference tri-Champs East Noble in the top bracket and another NHC Tri-Champand vastly improved Columbia City tangles with Northeast Corner Conference co-Champions, the Angola Hornets in the bottom bracket. In the end, however, the Saints from Dwenger will emerge with a championship game victory over Columbia City.
Sectional 12 – Traditional power Delta seems to be the favorite but do not underestimate Muncie Southside, who have put together a good season as an independent. However, South must get by an improving Marion Giant team in the first round for a shot at the Eagles. The winner should have an easy time with New Haven in the finals.
Sectional 13 – Defending champion New Palestine shows no signs of abdicating this sectional crown. Anderson is improved, Pendleton Heights has had some impressive wins, and Greenfield-Central has played some good games. However, the Dragons are the best in the field and should beat Pendeleton Heights in the finals.
Sectional 14 – Don't let Cathedrals record fool you. The Fighting Irish play as tough of schedule as anyone this side of Cincinnati St. Xavier. In fact, they played the Men of X earlier in the season. Roncalli is down and I was Plainfield's game against Pickerington Central and just do not feel that they can compete with Cathedral. Look for the Irish to move on without much effort.
Sectional 15 - The annual East Central Invitational looks to be just that this year as there does not appear to be a team here that can compete with the Trojans. You could not blame Coach Stonefield if he assigns staff members to the Reitz-Jasper game the first weekend of the tournament.
Sectional 16 – This sectional should be decided in the first weekend with the winner of the Jasper-Reitz game appearing to be in total command. However, keep an eye on an improving Evansville Central team that appears to be hitting it's best stride at the end of the season.
