Semi-State Football Picks.
Class 5A
Fishers is on some kind of roll and playing on their home turf. This should be a good game. I'll go with Valparaiso in a tight one.
Lawrence Central has had the much tougher road and I think it will do them well when they hit the road against Bloomington North. Lawrence Central marches on to the Dome.
Class 4A
I saw the Hammond Morton vs. Concord game on T.V. and I was very impressed with Morton. But I don't think they have enough to beat Bishop Dwenger. I'll take Dwenger to move on to state.
Classic match-up between Cathedral and unbeaten Reitz. This could be a real shootout but I'll take Cathedral to win a close one at home.
Class 3A
Leo won a last second thriller against West Lafayette. Will the momentum continue on the road at S.B. St. Joseph's? Let me flip a coin. Heads Leo, tails St. Joseph's. It came up tails, St. Joseph's move on.
Indian Creek has had a great season going 12 and 1. But it comes to an end against Chatard. Chatard stamps it's ticket to the Finals.
Class 2A
Rensselear Central goes into this one undefeated but they haven't played nearly as tough of a schedule as Bishop Luers. Luers should win this one without much trouble.
North Putnam is also undefeated but they also played a weaker schedule than Mater Dei did. Mater Dei heads north for a win in this one than heads north to the Dome the day after Thanksgiving hopeing to win state.
Class 1A
Churubusco has had the tougher play-off road to this point but not as tough as what's next. Central Catholic sends Busco back to turtle town with a lose as they march on to what looks to be another state title.
Guerin Catholic has had a nice play-off run so far. But it all comes to an end when the travel to Fountain Central. Fountain Central moves on to take a shot at Central Catholic.
