mrmiyagi-I have read all your posts. Some with amusement, most with distain. Enough about the class system please. It is what it is. 4A schools enjoy a larger population to draw upon so by rights they should always field a much better team than a smaller populated school and will win a vast majority of games played. No dispute. And, while some of the posters on this board make some claims that would never be substaniated unless single class still existed, give it a rest. Even then, given two talented teams, on any given night..... By the way, Batesville (3A) beat the crap out of Hayward and Brownsburg (4A) at Hinkle the year Brownsburg won state. Just in case you weren't aware that a 3A could beat a 4A.

OK! My first post on this site. Might as well open a can of worms!
I liked the Tournament of Champions! Ok to have the class champs, then an overall champ. I know many don't agree and that's fine. I just liked it.

Just in case you weren't aware that a 3A could beat a 4A. Brownsburgh lost 3 of their first five games that year. However, Mavunga was hurt and missed many of those losses. Also, didn't Batesville lose to a 1a school as well that year. New Albany manhandled Batesville as well that year at the HOF. By the way it isn't as simple as on any given night. It isn't like the 3a winner would magically play the 4a winner for the real state title. Those southern 3a teams would have to beat some 4a teams as well as the best 1a and 2a teams just to get to the final four.

Being from a small school is nothing to be ashamed of. Voting in class bball because you can't play with the big boys, not having the guts to schedule some of the best 4a teams in your area, and acting like those smaller class state titles are equivalent to the 4a and old 1 class titles are things to be ashamed of. Just for the record Washington and Princeton two 3A schools you seem to love to call out, NEITHER voted for class basketball. BOTH voted against it. Having said that however, now that class basketball is a reality and will remain a reality, 4a titles are no more important than 1a. They may not have voted for it the first time but they have voted to keep class bball. When you look at the different class title winners for each year do you really think they are all equal? I haven't seen any 1a or 2a teams claiming they would have won the old 1 class system. Actually its only the southern 3a schools that feel the need to act like its all the same. I guess its been so long since they won anything that they can't remember why they didn't win for so long.

4>3>2>1 any questions? they should be greater..more students to draw from, more $$, better facilities, more pay for coaches.
All schools play in the system put forth by the IHSAA. 4 TRUE CHAMPIONS will be crowned Saturday. If Mr. Magoo doesn't show up until the 4A game that is great for him and us little peons too......

Beating a dead horse HERE. No more one class in Indiana, remember they play 4 games on Saturday. No matter how much you cry, whine, hate it, stomp your feet, scream at the top of your lungs, hold your breath until you die, run away from home, kick the dog, push your little sister, THERE WILL BE 4 CHAMPIONS CROWNED ON SATURDAY...JUST GET OVER IT ALL READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just wanna see 4 good games, GOOD LUCK TO ALL TEAMS INVOLVED! Tigerfire, just a reminder mrmyagi is the guy you defended on here a few weeks ago, and if I remember correctly told us all to "quit being so rude" to him. whatcha thinking now? I never defended MrMiyagi's deragatory comments on here nor anyone elses for that matter, I was encouraged that he debated basketball with me, and he made some thought out reponses. I laugh at how some get so fired up over his comments sometimes when it is apparent he is just stirring the pot. I made my comments in jest about beating a dead horse...my failed attempt at being funny. I feel it is silly that a group of sports fans to spew personnel attacks and can't talk basketball without it getting out of hand and someone's feelings getting hurt. Truth is that a school with 4000+ students in a affluent city in this state with plenty of resources should be fighting for state championships in several sports from wrestling to football to basketball. A school such as Bloomington South with about 1500 students has been dominating the last few years with a couple undefeated regular seasons, and a school with nearly 800 has been dominating 3A for the last 6 or 7 years...see my point?? If a school with 1500 can play well, go undefeated, and win "THE REAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP" , why can't schools with double that enrollment and many more resources not even get out of their sectional, win regionals, semi-states, or state championships??? But seems there are few, and for the most part the smaller schools in 4A seem to be enjoying the most success in the last 20 years or so(2000 or less students) when you would think that the 4000+ schools would be dominating? Or a school with less than 50 students from being 4A be dominating 3A, but Jasper hasn't won a sectional since the dark ages, pretty good at football but not basketball? Maybe, just maybe every school goes thru talent cycles, like when you have three 7 foot brothers go to your school, or 3 brothers who played for Princeton in the 50's(one was the all time leading scorer at Tulane, another played at Tulane, and another at North Carolina State). Roy Stoll who played at Tulane will be inducted in the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame this coming weekend, Gary Stoll also played at Tulane, and youngest brother Joe played at NC State. Not bad for a little ole town from Southern Indiana, not to mention 3 Indiana All Stars ( Larry Kidwell in 1965, and Travis Trice in 1990 and Cody McDaniel who was a girls All Star in 1996 after a state finals appearance) oddly enough all played before class basketball...HMMMMM...sorry I will quit being so pridefull. Good luck to all teams this weekend!

Someone must be mathematically challenged, or the person does not understand statistics.
