Just returned from the 2nd & 3rd rounds of the NCAA tourney held in Denver. The games were good with 2 upsets taking place in the opening round on Thurs. afternoon. What our group has really noticed over the last 18 years of attending the early rounds is how the NCAA is over-commercializing what once was a fan-friendly event. They run self-promoting videos before all the games that get old very quickly. TV timeouts not only slow the game down, it also stops teams momentum shifts that effect the outcome of the games. They treat the paying fans like cattle...by not allowing enough time between sessions and "herding" fans out the door...only to have them line up to re-enter the arena for the next session that is scheduled to start less than 30 minutes after the finish of the previous game. Ever notice how many empty seats there are when games start? Now you know why. Let's get back to some respect for the paying fans and treat them like customers......like it used to be. Wake up NCAA! You are killing your own existance.
