I was just wondering... In the tournement, which team has the best chance of knocking off Lawrence North? I doubt anyone will, but which team would match up the best against them? I really would like to see a new state champion in 4A!!!!!

Hmmmm... I'm trying to figure how I'm gonna' say this as I don't necessarily know who reads this (it's doubtful anyone else at LN reads this [but I could be wrong {of course, I'm prolly the most vocal about LN athletics}]), because while I should be saying that no one has a chance against "Larry North" this year, at the same time, they're starting to run out of steam and become tempted to enter the "cruise control relaxation mode" which can lead to an unexpected upset.
Part of me has my doubts, I'll admit that.
As to who might beat them? Anyone can, but I could see North Central, Pike, and Bloomington South beating them. Now of course, the whole state of Indiana would be turned upside down if Arlington pulled the upset of the century against LN

i would have to go with a complete upset and go with 21-0 Shelbyville. this team has no guy over 6'5 but they are fundamentally sound and are quick and can shoot the three. this team has an overall game that could be a surpise in the state tournament. for them to play LN they would play each other at the semi state at southport.

radioboy, you are right,Shelby is a very good team. But I think maybe a team that beats Larry North this year would maybe be a team, that is use to playing them, these last few years, a team that kind of knows their tendencies, for defense. On offense, if a team has not played them, they score in bunches, and can deflate the other team real fast. Or cause the other team to hurry and get out of their own offensive plan. On the other hand I don't see any team this year manning up to Larry North.

Now that you mention it, I think Shelbyville's kinda stayed hidden under the radar. But you're right, if anyone'll beat LN, it'll be someone like Pike or North Central, someone who's been planning all season to knock them out of the state championship hunt all year.

I would have to say Pike. They are the only team that can keep up with them an not have to hold the ball for minutes at a time. Pike played then on 2-21 and was only down one with a few minutes left. Pike has a few players that are on Oden and Conley's AAU team so they won't be in awe of them like teams that have not seen them before.

Pike, You forgot about Bloomington South?? The team that beat Pike this year. And, The last team to beat Larry North. And the team that just beat undefeated Shellbyville.I told dawuss at the beginning of the year to watch for the bloomington team. I think Pike is way down anyway this year.

Pike is way down and STILL #2, I do give South all the props in the world they have a good program. However Pike would play North before BS would, that's why I picked pike...and we have 3 state championships and South has zero! ;D

Hey Pike, looks like Bloomington and Larry North , round II. Pikes just a big man short of being a great team this year. I think the B-town school has the same problem. Oh well, ain't to bad to get beat by the #1 high school team in the USA. and remember, Bloomington did beat your devils this season.( say WHAT)

Pike, you know what? Using your philosophy, the team Larry North is playing, for the championship, Muncie Central, has to be infinitely better program than Pike because they have won 5 championships. And all before they watered it down and went to a class system. To win a state championship then you had to win 12 games , alot harder than it is with class system, I think only 7 games. Looks like on a scale of things Pikes Infinitely worse than alot of teams.

Yeah but it's doubtful MC's adding another trophy to their collection... I have a feeling there could be a halftime traffic jam, but that's just me
