I'm glad to see that one team in the country doesn't schedule a patsie for there first game. Thats horrible to see top 25 teams playing D2 teams.

Seriously... However stuff like that can hurt the strength of schedule, so that may come into play later in the season, when the rankings get closer to being finalized....

Notre Dame wasn't the ONLY team in the country who didn't play a "patsy" (D2 school) for it's first game. What about: Miami/Florida State? Tennessee/California? Auburn/Washington State? TCU/Baylor? Oregon/Stanford? Louisville/Kentucky? Michigan/Vanderbilt? West Virginia/Marshall? USC/Arkansas? All of those are D-1 schools aren't they? I'm no Vols fan, but it was nice to see them kick "California" butt. The Brohm kid at Louisville looks really good. Last night's game between the Canes and the Seminoles showed that both teams have killer defenses, but the offenses aren't there like in the past. THE game of the year is next Saturday night: Ohio State/Texas. That game is going to effect the polls for the rest of the season and it's only week 2.

Ok south, thats 9 games out of 300 D1 schools, and there were alot more pat. games than match ups. I'll take Texas over the big O don't know why just call it a hunch. Thats sad someone's national hopes will be over in the second week.

Not necessarily, I think in the mid 90's there was an NC that was a rematch, though I could be mistaken
