Colt hasn't missed a beat since the IN/KY All Star game. He has started all 3 games for Marty Simmons and leads the team in scoring (16 ppg), steals (2 pg), minutes played (32 pg) and is 3rd on the team in rebounding (5 pg). UE is is 2-1 with the loss coming at the hands of Butler on Saturday. Colt almost single handedly beat Butler with a 12 point outburst in the final 60 seconds of the game - he had 2 3's in 4 seconds to close the lead 62-60. He had a good look at another three to tie but it hit the front of the rim. If he continues at this rate, he will be a strong cadidate for MVC freshman of the year and 1st team MVC. In only 3 games, he has established himself as the "go to" guy on Marty's squad - just as he did as a freshman for Batesville.

I found stats for the game. looks like he had a rough game till final min 5 for 18 1 rebound 6 turnovers 1 assist in 36 min Actually the UE box score reads: 6-16 FG (he drained 3 of his last 4 3's) - 17 pts 3 rebounds 2 steals 1 assist 5 turnovers And yes, he didn't have a great game up until the final 60 seconds. But wow, 12 pts in 1 minute - freaking incredible! The Indy Star quoted his performance as "Reggie Milleresque" - and it was! Great players fight through dry spells.

3 for 13 and 5 turnovers with 1 min to go down 12 really hard to believe he was still in game. most freshmen would not get that chance I bet that last min was fun to watch. I saw him in high school he is a very good player.

I saw him in high school he is a very good player. You are absolutely correct, most freshman would never get that chance. That type of real game experience for a freshman is invaluable - a huge confidence builder. It was incredibly fun to watch. Nice that UE has a competitive future ahead.

we left the game with 2 minutes to go while they were down by 12 because it was the most boring game in the history of ncaa. As we walked out i said they were probaly going to have an amazing comeback and so we turned on the radio on and they were down by 2. Colt is a shooter he will do well. Cant wait to see unc next year in evansville

I bet it feels better to you Zellerball if a Zeller is on the floor. Unlike you and a few other people on here i support all players that come out of the state of indiana. When they won state in 08 and had to play batesville there were all kinds of batesville fans on here talking about ryan and grimsley and no one talked trash about them. Grow up

Great question. Last I checked, Grimsley had played 0 minutes for Kent State this season. He hurt his back last year during the Kansas game and pretty much hasn't played since then. I know he traveled with the team to Europe over the summer but I don't think he got much action then either. I know somebody who spoke to his mother recently and it was conveyed that, although he is healthy, he probably wouldn't see much action this year - and she didn't elaborate.
