Its a sad day when the #2 player in the nation only receives 16 votes for Mr Bball. I hope Teague follows McRobert's lead and doesn't play in the All-Star games. On a side note it was interesting to see Cody Zeller thought the 2a semi-state was the JV game because it was played before his game. I wonder if he realizes that anyone with any sense knows the 3a game is the JV game before the 4a state title game. I guess those ignorant sports writers didn't realize Washington didn't beat a decent 4a team while the Zellers' where at Washington or worse yet they did and for some reason think it doesn't matter. It's also very sad that the 5" 9" Nic Moore only got 21 votes after the way he dominated Zeller at the HOF. Really, how many times do you see a 5' 9" guy guard, block and thoroughly dominate a 7 footer.

I got a kick out of the 2A comment. Unfortunately thats the way Washington fans really think about 1A and 2A. They snub their noses at smaller teams while having a fit when 4A thinks they are the best. The Zellers have all had excellent careers but none were probably deserving of the Mr. Basketball award.

Hatchets time at the top is probably over for a while its someone elses turn we have had a lot of fun the last several years and no kid hiding behind a keyboard can take that away. Its basbeball season go #10. You played well today!!

I think its pretty easy to see that you are jealous of my bball knowledge. I guess when you can't argue the facts your only left with the jealousy card to try and divert attention away from the facts. By the way, I only use one name. Are you ready to cheer.......Washington is #101..........Washington is #101..........Washington is #101.

bluechip you can't sit there and say none were deserving. Did Luke deserve it, No. Dominic James should have won it that year, but its hard not to vote for a guy who puts up almost a triple double and then hits a game winner with 1.8 to go from half court. Without question Tyler deserved it. And anybody who thinks different really shows their ignorance. He will be in the Naismith discussion next year in the NCAA. Out of the top 3 this year, Zeller, Teague, and Moore it was really tough. Did he deserve to win by the landslide he did, No, but he is a great player. And for the record I was at the HOF games and Moore did not dominate him Miyagi. He pretty much held on to his ankles the entire game. I'm a hatchet so I may be biased, but that is my two cents.

I was at the HOF classic too, and even though I am a Hatchet fan Nic Moore did have the better night. Nic is an outstanding basketball player for sure. If I remember the stats right, he didn't shoot an outstanding percentage for the game. He still hit some really tough shots though. Hatchets still should have won that game, refs were horrible. Zeller was fouled all game long and they didn't call much. Plus the bad call at the end of the game gave Warsaw the last shot instead of the hatchets. That aside, Nic Moore did deserve more votes though. Should have been closer between Moore and Zeller. Teague doesn't impress me at all. He made bad choices in the McDonald's All American game and was out peformed by Zeller and Dawson both. I think Nic Moore should have been in that game instead of Teague. My opinion is that Moore is the better player than Teague. His stats prove it as well as his game. Moore put his team on his shoulders last year to get to the State Championship.

The refs in 4a actually let the defenders guard without calling everything a foul.

Mr. Basketball goes beyond basketball. Maybe how a canidate exhibits themselves to the public?

It kind of depends on how the defenders are defending. If the defenders are defending too aggressively then there is probably a good chance the refs are missing calls on overly aggressive defenders, resulting in the defenders getting away with defensive fouls. This appears to be the case in the HOF Classic.
